Principles of physical science , the procedures and concepts employed by those who study the inorganic world. Physical science , like all the natural sciences, is concerned with describing and relating to one another those experiences of the surrounding world that are shared by different observers and whose description can be agreed upon. One of its principal fields, physics , deals with the most general properties of matter, such as the behaviour of bodies under the influence of forces, and with the origins of those forces. In the discussion of this question, the mass and shape of a body are the only properties that play a significant role, its composition often being irrelevant. Physics, however, does not focus solely on the gross mechanical behaviour of bodies but shares with chemistry the goal of understanding how the arrangement of individual atoms into molecules and larger assemblies confers particular properties. Moreover, the atom itself may be analyzed into its more basic constituents and their interactions.

There are four major branches of science; each branch is categorized in different type of subjects that covers different areas of studies such us chemistry, physics, math, astronomy etc. The four major branches of science are, Mathematics and logic, biological science, physical science and social science.
Mathematics and logic deals with abstract concepts. It goes hand in hand as both are needed in relation to finding out how social sciences and natural sciences work. They are also both needed in forming laws, theories and hypothesis. Even scientist needs this branch of science, as they would not come to a conclusion without any formulation.
Another branch of science is Biological science. This on the other hand deals with the study of living things. Biological science is divided into different sub topics. One of them is Zoology. It is a category under biology that focuses on the study of animal life. The study includes, and are not limited to, evolution, classification of both extinct and the living, structure and habits. Zoology also deals with embryology, which is the study of the animals' development of the embryo, from fertilization to fetus.
Another category is Botany. This category is the scientific study of plants and its life cycle. Including in this study are the plants diseases, reproduction, growth, chemical properties, structure and relationship. Ecology on the other hand deals with the study of the environment and its relationship to living organisms. The last category of biological science is Paleontology.
This category of biology deals with the study of prehistoric era. Fossils are not just the main concern in paleontology, it can include any subject that is related with the past, and in other words it can be a study of the whole history of mankind and its life on earth. Social science is one of the four major branches of science.
This on the other hand is the study of the society and man's relationship to it. This study includes Anthropology, which is the study of human behavior and human development that considers cultural, social and physical aspects. Economics is another category under social science; this science studies goods and services, how they are being manufactured, distributed and consumed. Sociology meanwhile is the study of human society; it is more concerned in group activities and urban studies.
This study is part of the social science branch, although synonymous when it comes to the name, sociology is more compound since it uses different methods of critical analysis and investigation to come up with a conclusion. The study of earth's phenomena, its land and features is what Geology is all about. Another category of social science, it can be divided into two parts, which are the physical geography that deals with the land and human geography that deals with the land's inhabitants.
Philosophy on the other hand is the pursuit of knowledge by means of moral, intellectual and self-discipline. Studying human behavior according to its principles is what psychology is all about. Physical science, the last in four major branches of science, has geology, physics, chemistry and astronomy as its categories.
Astronomy is the study of the heavenly bodies, like the stars, galaxies, comets and planets, while chemistry is the study of different substances, the changes they undergo and their compositions. Many people think of chemists as being white-coated scientists mixing strange liquids in a laboratory, but the truth is we are all chemists. Understanding basic chemistry concepts is important for almost every profession. Chemistry is part of everything in our lives. Every material in existence is made up of matter — even our own bodies. Chemistry is involved in everything we do, from growing and cooking food to cleaning our homes and bodies to launching a space shuttle. Chemistry is one of the physical sciences that help us to describe and explain our world. Analytical chemistry uses qualitative and quantitative observation to identify and measure the physical and chemical properties of substances.

Pure science deals with the study of natural phenomena through experiment, observation and using scientific methods. People also refer to natural science as basic or fundamental science. Natural science derives theories and makes predictions through the study of visible objects. Whether in biology or physics, scientists conduct most of their activities in a laboratory. Natural science is more about the study of human beings, animals and plants. The study of behavioral aspects of living organisms is also part of natural science because it involves biological aspects of an organism to explain the phenomena. The primary objective of pure science is to increase the existing information about an individual field of study and to develop scientific theories.

What is Chemistry? - Definition, History & Branches
Chemistry is a branch of science. Although science itself is difficult to define exactly, the following definition can serve as starting point. Science is not the only process of knowing e. Actually, however, the process is not that simple. An educated guess about how the natural universe works is called a hypothesis. A scientist who is familiar with how part of the natural universe works—say, a chemist—is interested in furthering that knowledge. That person makes a reasonable guess—a hypothesis—that is designed to see if the universe works in a new way as well. Most good hypotheses are grounded in previously understood knowledge and represent a testable extension of that knowledge. The scientist then devises ways to test if that guess is or is not correct. That is, the scientist plans experiments. An experiment to test our previous hypothesis would be to actually mix hydrogen and oxygen and see what happens. Most experiments include observations of small, well-defined parts of the natural universe designed to see results of the experiments. Why do we have to do experiments? Why do we have to test? Because the natural universe is not always so obvious, experiments are necessary.
