As reported last night, Romelu Lukaku was taken off during the game against Dundee at Dens Parks.
Our first reaction at Cahill’s Corner Flag was that the big Belgian Striker had pulled up with what looked to be a hamstring injury.
Shortly after the game last night Roberto Martinez was interviewed by Everton TV in which he allayed any fears over Lukaku’s withdrawal.
Martinez insisted that the substitution was only precautionary and that, ‘his legs were feeling a little heavy and didn’t want to take any risks’. The Spaniard reiterated, ‘it is not a problem at all’.
All Evertonians will be hoping and praying that this is in fact the case. However we all know Martinez’s history in diagnosing players injuries before they are fully assessed. You’d never thought the he has a physiotherapy degree!
